VIEW FROM SPONSORS BOX

This is just a sample of the wonderful view from the SPONSORS BOX of the game. Be part of it and
spoil yourself with the MONTROSE FC hospitality and decor.

Without a doubt our top money earner is our canteen. Whilst we employ a Canteen Manager for our
Sunday matches and for ordering purposes, we have to run a canteen roster of parents for it to operate
effectively. Whilst we know it is an imposition, it is a necessary fact of life. Rosters are generally made
available at the start of the season, and revised after the first few games.

The bar is also a major source of income for the club. The bar is open on Friday nights for parents to
purchase from. It is also open at Awards Nights on Sundays. Please note however that the terms of
the club's licence puts limits on where alcohol can be consumed. Further, the EFL strictly prohibits a
lcohol from junior games (though it is allowed to be served in licensed premises - which includes the
sponsor box). The club is accredited through the "Good Sports" program and all bar staff have been
trained in the responsible serving of alcohol.

Future Improvements

The club spends a considerable amounts of its own funds on improvements and the basic maintenance
of the pavilion. The shire council plan (drawn up in 2004/05), allocates $1.3million over 10 years, to
improve the whole of the reserve (including tennis courts public toilets, play equipment, entrance,
netball courts etc.).

Maintenance

There is a common misconception that the Shire fixes all maintenance problems. The reality is that
essentially the tenant clubs are responsible for all internal items (eg electrical, painting, plumbing)
inside the clubrooms, and the Shire responsible for external including the oval. However when
replacing the dangerous goal posts in 2005, the club still needed to find $1000 before the Shire would
replace them, despite their view that the oval is a public space and anyone is entitled to utilise it.
Consequently we value the contribution of those in the club who are tradespeople and can offer
their occasional assistance.

Tenancy

The Shire Of Yarra Ranges allocates tenancy of the clubrooms and main oval on a six month season
basis, meaning that from April 1 to September 30, the football club is the tenant and from October 1
to March 31, the Montrose Cricket Club is the tenant. The football and cricket clubs usually agree
to vary this at the end of their seasons, depending on finals participation etc. However it should be
noted that until this agreement has been reached at the end of the cricket season, the football club
may only use the rooms and the main oval with the permission of the cricket club. At present there
is an amicable working arrangement between the two clubs although the overlap between seasons
can be an issue for both clubs.

Our Vision

From our humble beginnings where the area for the reserve was gifted to the Montrose people and
sporting groups by the Burley family. A pavillion largely erected by volunteers and members and
supporters of those sporting groups, with substantial contributions by those people, with some
contributions by the then Shire of Lillydale, we find we have outgrown the facility. With football
membership in excess of 400 and players in excess of 400 (Senior and Junior Clubs, Auskick and
Disability membership) it is no wonder we are pushing hard for an upgrade. The oval surface requires
substantial redevelopment. The cricket and football clubs do not have the financial support within
their membership to address all the issues of the ovals. Our focus is on a redevelopment of the
pavillion, so that clubs in the area, not only sporting clubs but all members of Montrose Community
can obtain easy and low cost use of a facility. A pavillion that can cater for groups, functions and
meals/dinners whilst you watch your favourite activities, will give clubs an opportunity to increase
a revenue stream that will enhance our abilities to fund oval maintenance, redevelopment and
upgrades. We want to go up for social activities and provide a functional kitchen and redevelop
the ground area for shower, female and disability amenities. Provide meeting rooms and counselling
rooms for the community and also emergency response rooms and facilities for the Montrose CFA
and other volunteers engaged in emergency and 'wildfire' response.

The gymnasium facility is available to all senior players and U18s.  It is available to U15 and U16
players but only under the direction and supervision of their respective coaches or parent/guardian.
